Miles for Missing People Charity Run

On Saturday Friends Reunited sponsored and took part in a brand-new running event, bringing together families of the missing, in aid of the Missing People charity.

A fantastic day was had by all, with over £20,000 raised for the charity, and more than 400 supporters involved in the 10K Hyde Park run. Runners included parents of missing children like Kate McCann, Nicki Durbin the mother of missing Luke Durbin, Rachel Elias the sister of former Manic Street Preachers guitarist Richey Edwards and celebrities Zoe Tyler and Kirsten O’Brien.

Missing People provides outstanding support for missing children, vulnerable adults and families left in limbo. Last year the charity received more than 123,000 calls for help. Find out more about their great work at their website – www.missingpeople.org.uk

First Love Reunited

Ben and Natalie were high school sweethearts from Bendigo, Victoria. They were separated when Ben’s family moved away to Colac but reunited, 10 years later, after getting back in touch on Friends Reunited.

Long Lost Sisters Reunited

Two sisters who spent 30 years apart have been reunited, after they discovered they were working for the same supermarket chain, just 6 miles away from each other!

Carla discovered her half sister on Friends Reunited, where they first got in contact and began chatting regularly. A month later they decided to meet, and the pair have been inseparable ever since.

Love Interrupted

The Australian TV programme 60 Minutes showed some great Friends Reunited success stories from down under on Sunday.

The show interviewed a number of couples who had attempted to rekindle their high school love affairs. Kirk and Samantha, for example, got back together after 11 years apart and the high school sweethearts are now happily married with 7 children!

First Love Reunited

Some fantastic Friends Reunited success stories were shown in The Scottish Sun this week, celebrating first loves getting back together. Here’s a quick look at their stories:

Irene & Colin met in Bristol, 1986 at the age of just 17. After calling off their initial wedding, Irene spent the next 12 years regretting her decision. Irene later contacted Colin on Friends Reunited, and they picked up where they left off. They married shortly after, just 18 years after Colin’s first proposal!

Gwyn & Roxanne became the first Scottish couple to marry having reunited using the Friend Reunited website. They first got together at school in 1982, but years later, Roxanne contacted Gwyn on the site and the couple quickly rekindled their lost love.

Lindsey & Bryan dated as teenagers, but never took their relationship any further. When Bryan’s marriage broke down, he searched for his old girlfriend via Friends Reunited and the two became friends again. When Lindsey’s marriage broke down, Bryan swooped and the couple have been inseparable ever since.

Welsh Guards Reunite after 30 years

Here at Friends Reunited we love hearing our members’ success stories, from long lost love to family reunions.

Recently, we were sent a great story from Kevin and Mike, two former Welsh Guardsmen who had reunited as friends after 30 years apart.

We caught up with the pair at the Welsh Guards’ annual reunion and made a short video about their story.
