Try our new travel groups

March 27, 2009

Recently, we’ve made some big improvements to our travel groups section.

We’ve partnered with Dorling Kindersley to bring you exclusive content from their DK Eyewitness Top 10 series.

Alongside the groups our members have created, there are now 20 specially created groups, dedicated to helping you get inspiration and information on 20 of the world’s most popular cities and areas. Each group has a range of useful information, so you can discover the highlights; including the top 10 events, restaurants, hotels, museums and historic buildings.

As usual, you’ll find a message board section to share advice, experiences and chat to other travellers, alongside an area to share your photos and special memories with others.

Latest changes to Friends Reunited

March 16, 2009

We’ve just made some change to help improve Friends Reunited for our members.

The first thing you’ll notice is changes to your homepage. We’ve tried to make it easier to stay in touch with your friends by simplifying the layout, making your newsflash bigger and your friend’s activity more visible.

Your profile is now easier to use and complete, so make sure you keep your friends up-to-date with your life and get your profile to 100%!

We’ve also reintroduced the option to browse for schools, workplaces, teams or armed services. You can still search by country, region and county to find a place that you’ve spent time at but it’s now easier to find similar places in the local area.

We hope you enjoy the changes, check back for more updates soon. If you’ve got any comments, please add them to this post.

Welcome to the new Friends Reunited

April 28, 2008

Hello and welcome to a brand new chapter for Friends Reunited.

If you’ve got this far you’ve probably noticed things feel a bit different. That’s because we’ve added a new, more sociable dimension to the website. So rather than just a school reunion, also think of us as a visit to your local, where everyone you’ve ever wanted to stay in touch with is sitting around the one table.

If you’re like us, you probably don’t see your friends and family as much as you’d like to. Now you no longer need to feel like you’re out of touch with what’s happening in their life. It’s like sending a text or having daily phone chats but easier. Have a look around a bit and you’ll see what we mean.

Before you shoot off we’d recommend you do 3 quick things. They take no time at all and will really start bringing the site to life for you:

1. Start putting stuff on your profile page

2. Add at least one photo

3. Start inviting friends to your Friends list

Finally, we’d like to thank you for your support! Now dive in and explore…

P.S. There are lots of new bits and everything should be running smoothly. But as you’re one of the first people to visit, you could well discover there are a few gremlins. We’ll be ironing these out over the next few days, but thanks in advance for your patience and understanding.
