Share your profile with friends

July 31, 2009

To make it easier for friends to find and contact you, you can now share your profile and photo albums with anyone you like, even if they’re not on Friends Reunited.

Create your own unique place on the web by choosing a Friends Reunited username, which will form part of your own web page address.

Once created, your page will become public, meaning you can easily share your page with friends, family and co-workers, even if they’re not a member of the site.  People you invite can then bookmark your page and use it as the single place on the web to keep in touch and stay up-to-date with your life.

Remember, you can easily control what people can and can’t see on your page in Privacy Settings

If you want to find out more, take a look at the FAQs page here

You can chose any username you like on a first-come, first-served basis (chose wisely, once created it can’t be changed), so make sure you get yours now!

Tag your friends in photos

May 29, 2009

Photo tagging is a great new feature we’ve just added to Friends Reunited. Tagging simply allows you to label who’s pictured in a photo, just like the image below.

Tagging your friends and family in photos is also a great way to share your snaps.  Once you have tagged someone, they’ll be sent a link to view the photo.

You can tag anyone you like, whether they have a Friends Reunited account or not – if they don’t, just enter their email address and they’ll be send an invitation to view the photo.

To start tagging, visit your photos here, and either click on the photo or click “Add a tag” in the bar beneath a photo. You can then draw a box over people’s faces to identify them.

There’s plenty more detail on photo tagging at our FAQs section >>

We hope you enjoy this great new feature,

April 21, 2009

We want to map all the schools in the UK and we need your help getting their exact locations.

To do this, we’ve created a really simple map tool that you can use to add your schools. Just click on the “Go to maps” button (shown below) on your school’s homepage.

If you can’t see the “Go to maps” button on your school’s page, don’ worry – it just means your old school mates have already helped us locate it.

Thanks for helping us improve the site,

Friends Reunited Chat

March 16, 2009

You may have noticed we’ve added a grey bar to the bottom of your page on Friends Reunited. This is the Chat bar and allows you to talk with other members of your groups, on Friends Reunited. We’re live testing chat at the moment so there may be periods of non-availability in the coming days. Please bear with us whilst we work on adding this exciting feature to the site.

Chat allows you to hold conversations with members of a group, using an “Instant messenger”. You can join up to 5 chats at one time, each allowing up to 20 people to talk at once.

The chat bar should be visible at the bottom of your screen. You can start chatting by any of three ways:

  • Chats taking place – Join a chat going on at one of your groups
  • All chats taking place – Accessible via “Chats taking place”, showing all available chats
  • Press the “Join chat” button when in a group you’re a member of.

If chat isn’t for you, you can hide the chat bar by pressing “hide”,

We appreciate you feedback during our testing phase. Please feel free to add comments on this post..
