Some fantastic Friends Reunited success stories were shown in The Scottish Sun this week, celebrating first loves getting back together. Here’s a quick look at their stories:
Irene & Colin met in Bristol, 1986 at the age of just 17. After calling off their initial wedding, Irene spent the next 12 years regretting her decision. Irene later contacted Colin on Friends Reunited, and they picked up where they left off. They married shortly after, just 18 years after Colin’s first proposal!
Gwyn & Roxanne became the first Scottish couple to marry having reunited using the Friend Reunited website. They first got together at school in 1982, but years later, Roxanne contacted Gwyn on the site and the couple quickly rekindled their lost love.
Lindsey & Bryan dated as teenagers, but never took their relationship any further. When Bryan’s marriage broke down, he searched for his old girlfriend via Friends Reunited and the two became friends again. When Lindsey’s marriage broke down, Bryan swooped and the couple have been inseparable ever since.

I love happy reunion stories. I’ve been studying rekindled romances since 1993. But a caveat is called for: if you are married with no plans to leave your marriage right now, do not contact a lost love.
Most people (men especially) do not leave their marriages for lost love reunions, but they do consider it and have affairs until they get caught. The suffering for the small bits of happiness isn’t worth it (unless you are the kind of person who would risk cocaine addiction for the initial pleasure it might bring).

I have just reunited with my first love after 35 years. We were separated by our parents when we were 15. It was magic the first time we looked into each other’s eyes. Neither of us saw the old person but the same person that we fell in love with all those years ago. We write and talk on the phone nearly every day and have seen each other 3 times over the last 2 months. (We live 500 miles apart) We have plans to marry when he moves back here in less than 2 years. We giggle like school children everytime we talk! It “is” possible to have that same magic again. We are both single now though. I would not recommend a reunion if you are in a long term relationship.

I have reunited with my first love after 43 yrs. I never forgot him…He is divorced and I am recently divorced. In. Nov. I contacted him through a website, did not know at the time it was him but when I put in his name 1/2 doz. names came up and i picked the one closest to my age and it turned out to be him. We e mailed for a month (he lived out of state at the time) In December he visited family in the area and we met during that time. It was as if we never parted. We had so much fun together. He makes me laugh on a daily basis. He has since moved back to the area..We are looking forward to spending our golden years together. We both call it FATE…
